Easy to Follow Dance Tutorial Specifically for Children.

Specially designed for ages 5 through 9, children will learn ballet steps and how to put them into a dance. The dance is demonstrated and explained step-by-step followed by a performance, so it’s easy to dance along.

This tutorial contains the basic positions of the feet, arms and head. The DVD proceeds to demonstrate and teach how to Sautés (Jumps), Skip change of step, Petits Jetés, Galops forwards, Galops Sideways, Turning on a rise using little steps, Revérénce Curtsy followed by a dance that combines all these steps. The music is charming and inviting and the dance is also cleverly designed with counting to help children relate to the musically and rhythmic phrasing in the performance of the movements.

Budding ballerina Sadie demonstrates the dancing at the tutelage of “Miss Jennifer” Bell- Grey (ARAD, Dip RBS TC) in this 20-minute video. The program also features a couple of younger students, Lilly & Leila, who perform the dance in costume.
